An announcement has been made regarding iQOO 11S and TWS 1

Introducing the newest members of the iQOO lineup, the iQOO 11S and TWS 1 wireless earbuds. The iQOO 11S builds upon the success of its predecessor, the iQOO 11, offering enhanced features such as a massive 1TB storage capacity, blazing-fast 200W charging capability, and an upgraded 50MP IMX866 main camera. Both phones share identical designs and most specifications.

The iQOO 11S boasts a stunning 6.78-inch LTPO4 AMOLED display, featuring a resolution of 1,440 x 3,200 pixels and an impressive 144Hz refresh rate—matching its predecessor. To optimize the display performance and gaming experience, the device is equipped with vivo's V2 display chip, ensuring seamless management of refresh rates. Located within the elegant punch hole cutout at the top is a 16MP front-facing camera, delivering exceptional selfie capabilities.

The primary point of differentiation lies in the rear camera setup, where the iQOO 11S showcases a remarkable 50MP IMX 866 sensor (1/1.49", 1.0Β΅m pixel size). This sensor is shared with the vivo X90 and the recently introduced vivo X90S, ensuring exceptional imaging capabilities. Accompanying the main camera is a 13MP portrait module with a 50mm focal length for 2x zoom, as well as an 8MP ultrawide lens to capture expansive scenes.

Under the hood, the iQOO 11S is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, delivering impressive performance. It is coupled with a maximum of 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and offers a spacious 1TB UFS 4.0 storage capacity, surpassing the limits of its predecessor—the iQOO 11—whose maximum configuration included 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Additionally, the iQOO 11S inherits the efficient 4,013mm2 VC cooling system from the iQOO 11, ensuring optimal temperature management.

The iQOO 11S introduces significant enhancements in the battery and charging department. It features a slightly smaller 4,700mAh battery compared to the iQOO 11's 5,000mAh, but compensates with the inclusion of 200W fast charging instead of the older model's 120W solution. On the software side, it runs OriginOS 3 on top of Android 13.

The iQOO 11S is available in blue, black, and BMW Motorsport white colors. The base model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage starts at CNY 3,799 ($526), while the top-end variant with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage is priced at CNY 4,799 ($664). Open sales in China commence on July 10.

Memory Types: What are the differences between LPDDR5 and DDR5?

DRAM can be classified into two main categories: DDR and LPDDR, which stand for Dual Data Rate and Low Power Dual Data Rate, respectively. DDR is commonly employed in desktop computers and high-end laptops, whereas LPDDR is primarily utilized in smartphones and ultrabooks. The latest CPUs from Intel, such as Raptor Lake-S, and AMD's Ryzen 7000 series support DDR5 memory. On the other hand, their notebook counterparts are equipped with LPDDR5 memory, which offers enhanced power efficiency and a more compact form factor. Over the past decade, DDR4 has been the dominant memory standard used in PCs, offering data rates of up to 3,200 Mbps. Its successor, DDR5, initially introduced a base transfer rate of 4,800 Mbps but has since increased to 6,400 Mbps, with overclocked versions reaching up to 7,200 Mbps. LPDDR4 (including LPDDR4X) supported data rates of up to 4,267 Mbps but is now being replaced by LPDDR5 and LPDDR5X. LPDDR5 typically provides a data rate of 6,400 Mbps, while LPDDR...
